Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi on October 20

Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the day of birth and demise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), will be observed in the country on October 20 as the moon of Rabiul Awwal was not sighted in Bangladesh sky on Thursday.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at the Baitul Mukarram conference room of Islamic Foundation on Thursday evening.
The meeting informed that the moon of Rabiul Awwal of 1443 Hijri was not sighted anywhere of Bangladesh sky. Consequently, the lunar month will be counted from tomorrow.
On this day in 570, 12th of Rabiul Awwal, Prophet Muhammad (SM) was born in Makkah of Saudi Arabia with divine blessings and messages of peace for mankind. He also passed away on the same day in 632 in Madina.
The day is a public holiday in Bangladesh.
