Dhaka people suffer for transport crisis, police checking at points

Bangladesh desk: The dwellers in Bangladesh capital Dhaka suffered on Wednesday due to a sudden crisis of public transports on different roads in the city.

They had to suffer a lot on the day scheduled for holding rallies by the ruling Awami League and the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party in Dhaka. The rallies were in progress in the afternoon amid tight security measures.

A huge number of police personnel were deployed at some points of the city while they were also seen checking Dhaka-bound vehicles at Aminbazar area, one of the main city entry points.

People were seen standing for buses at different crossings in the capital since morning.

The worst sufferers were the office-going people and school bound students.

Many were seen walking to their destinations amid light rain.

A huge number of people including men, women and children were seen waiting for transports at Motijheel Shapla Chattar, Dainik Bangla, Paltan crossing, National Press Club, Shahbagh, Banglamotor, and Shaymoli crossings between 10:30am and 2:00pm.

Even the number of rickshaws were also fewer on the roads on the day.

Police members in groups were seen at Dainik Bangla and Paltan crossings since morning.

The policemen were seen checking the papers of the vehicles at Aminbazar.
