COVID-19 kills 36 people, 1,593 new patients detected in 24 hours

Bangladesh Desk: COVID-19 killed 36 more people while 1,593 more new patients were detected across Bangladesh in 24 hours ending at 8:00am on Thursday.
With this, the number of COVID-19 deaths reached 4,859 and the number of cases rose to 3, 44, 264 in the country.
Directorate General of Health Services, in a release, said that 13,673 samples were tested during the 24-hour period across the country and 11.65 per cent of them tested positive for COVID-19.
Among the new deaths, two died at their respective houses while the rest died at hospitals.
Twenty-eight of the deceased were males and eight were females.
Twenty-one of them were above 60 years of age, seven were between 51 and 60 years, five were between 41 and 50 years, two were between 21 and 30 years and one was between 31 and 40 years of age.
Twenty of them died in Dhaka division, five in Chattogram division, four in Rajshahi division, three in Barishal division, two in Khulna division and one died each in Sylhet and Rangpur divisions.
So far 2, 50, 412 COVID-19 patients recovered in the country, including 2,443 in the past 24 hours.
