Chhatra Odhikar dismisses rape allegations against Nur, others

An internal investigation of Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad on Sunday dismissed the rape allegations brought against its leaders including former DUCSU vice-president Nurul Haq Nur.

The three-member investigation committee was formed after two cases had been filed against Nur and five other leaders of Chhatra Odhikar Parishad.

The probe committee in its report said that they did not find any evidences of rape and the plaintiff, a Dhaka University student, also failed to provide any evidence.

The committee said that parishad convenor Hasan Al Mamun, the main accused in the case, knew the plaintiff who was a junior student of his department. But they were not in a relationship.

Nur also had never met the girl, although the plaintiff claimed in the case that she had met Nur in Nilkhet area where he threatened her not to disclose the matter.
