Bus collision claims 8 lives in Sylhet
Bangladesh Desk:  Two bused collided head-on in Dakshin Surma upazila of Sylhet city on Friday morning, leaving eight people dead.
The accident that took place at Rashidpur area at about 7:00am also left 50 more  passengers of the both the vehicles injured.

The deceased were identified as Manzur Ali 38, driver of Ena Paribahan; Salman, 30, supervisor of the vehicle; Jahangir Hossain, 30, helper of the transport; Shah Kamal, 45, driver of London Express; Dr Imran Khan Rumel, 48, lecturer of Women’s Medical Hospital in Sylhet; Sagor, 19; Nurul Islam, 50, and Nilima Khatun, 30.

Dakshin Surma Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Md Monirul Islam confirmed the matter.

OC Monirul said a Sylhet-bound bus of ‘London Express’ collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound one of ‘Ena Paribahan’, leaving eight people dead on the spot and over 50 others injured.

On information, police and firefighters rushed to the scene, rescued the injured and sent them to different hospitals, he added.
