Boy dies from ‘wrong treatment’; doctors, nurses flee away

Bangladesh Desk: A nine-year-old boy died from an alleged wrong treatment at a private hospital in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district on Saturday morning.
Deceased Sajid Hossain was the son of Jewel Hossain, a resident of Sushinara village in Delduar upazila of the district.
The deceased’s mother Suma Begum said Sajid was admitted to Dewan Hospital and Diagnostic Center on Wednesday after his one hand was broken.
After being treated there for several days, he was gone through a surgery on Friday.
A nurse administered an injection on him this morning after he was fed an egg. After ive minutes, another nurse put another injection in his body and instantly he died, the mother alleged.
Meanwhile, soon after the death, the hospital authorities, doctors and nurses went into hiding.
The hospital owner Dewan Muttaleb’s cell phone was found switched off while contacted.
Regarding the matter, Mirzapur Police Station inspector Md Gias Uddin said he heard about the death at the hospital but he did not know yet for what reason the child died.
Legal action would be taken if the deceased’s family lodges a written complaint, the inspector added.
