Bangladesh desk: BNP leaders are misinterpreting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent remarks on Padma Bridge to create confusion, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said.
The Awami League general secretary made this comment in a statement on Friday.
BNP is deliberately making a statement on ‘giving death threat’ to divert it (PM’s speech on Padma Bridge), said Obaidul Quader.
He further said, “Awami League does not follow the politics of repressing opposition. Ill-politics of eliminating the political opponent through killings, coup and conspiracy began in the country through the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members on August 15, 1975 under the leadership of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.”
The Awami League general secretary said this identified quarters are constantly carrying out various conspiracies against the interests and welfare of the country.
Prime Minister sought to unmask the faces of anti-national group and warn the people in her speech, he added.
Quader said Bangabandhu’s daughter is working relentlessly to change the fate of Bengali people.
People of this country will evaluate the leadership of Sheikh Hasina from generation to generation, he said.
“Bangladesh is moving forward in the journey of development, progress and prosperity today under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina and will continue to do so in the future. No conspiracy, no propaganda can stop this trend of progress.”
