BCL website hacked

Bangladesh desk: Bangladesh Chhatra League’s official website (https://bsl.org.bd/) was hacked amid nationwide protests by students and job seekers calling for reforms to the quota system for government jobs on Thursday.

The hackers hung a poster saying “its not a protest anymore, it’s a war now,” referring to widespread attacks on students demanding reformation of the quota system in public service.

The website further urges authorities to “stop killing students.”

Hackers directly address law enforcement personnel, political groups and citizens to join the protest with students and ensure justice for the deaths of protesting students over the last few days.

On Thursday, the websites of Bangladesh Police, home ministry, finance ministry, and foreign ministry, among others also could not be accessed, but it was unclear whether these were the result of hacking or network disruptions.
