Bangladesh Govt reschedules office timing to save power

Bangladesh desk: Bangladesh government on Monday set new office timing at 8:00am to 3:00pm from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

The daily banking hours have also been brought forward and set at 9:00am to 4:00pm by the weekly cabinet meeting presided over by prime minister Sheikh Hasina virtually from Ganabhaban.

Cabinet secretary Khandakar Anwarul Islam revealed the decisions at a briefing at the secretariat.

He said that the decisions were taken for saving power amid shortfall in generation.

He also said that the weekly holidays for schools and colleges would be two days in a week.

The concern authorities would come up with details in this regard, he added.

The new office timings to be come into force from Wednesday.
