Bangladesh Educational institutions to reopen from Sept 12: Dipu Moni

Bangladesh Education minister Dipu Moni
Bangladesh desk: Education minister Dipu Moni on Friday said that all the educational institutions from primary level to higher secondary level would be reopened from September 12.
‘We are hoping that we will reopen all the educational institutions — primary, secondary and higher secondary — from September 12,’ she said in a programme in Chandpur.
She said that the current closure of the educational institutions would not be extended after September 11.
The minister also said that the Secondary School Certificate would be held in November and the Higher Secondary Certificate examinations would be held in December this year.
The education minister’s comments came a day after the prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s Thursday comment in the parliament that measures were being taken to reopen the schools and colleges soon.
On the same day, health minister Zahid Maleque said that all the medical colleges across the country would reopen on September 13 under a plan to resume in-person classes in phases.
The country’s educational institutions have remained closed since March 18, 2020 following the Covid outbreak and students continued studies through online classes, TV broadcasts or other alternative means.
