Administering AstraZeneca 2nd dose resumes in Dhaka Monday

Bangladesh desk:  The government will resume administering the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine to those who failed to take the second dose after getting the first jab, in Dhaka division including the capital from tomorrow.

Dr Shamsul Haque, line director, MNC&AH of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), said this during the health bulletin today.

The government will start administering the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine to people across the country on August 7, he added.

The development came today as the country yesterday received 7.81 lakh doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from Japan under the COVAX facility.

With yesterday’s arrival, Bangladesh has received a total of 10.26 lakh doses of the vaccine from Japan, which has committed to supplying 30 lakh AstraZeneca doses to Bangladesh.
