Bangladesh desk: A five-day Eid-ul-Fitr vacation began from Wednesday as the Eid is likely to be celebrated on April 22 or 23 based on the appearance of the moon.
Already, Dhaka roads are found almost empty. There is no rush and police signals.
Only home-bound passengers’ rush towards Gabtoli, Mohakhali, Sayedabad, Jatrabari, Gulistan and Sadarghat. They are leaving the capital to celebrate Eid with loved ones.
But there was still some crowds in front of some markets and shopping malls.
Earlier, the government declared April 20 (Thursday) as general holiday. Tuesday was the last working for the government officials and employees.
The government employees will get five days of Eid vacation from April 19-23. But the public holiday is likely to be extended one more day on April 24 if the Ramadan ends in 30 days.
Consequently, the government employees will enjoy a six day Eid vacation till April 24.
