17 more BCL activists expelled for Facebook post about Sayeedi’s death

A total of 17 more local leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League in Pabna district have been temporarily expelled for post on social media Facebook to mourn the death of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delawar Hossain Sayeedi, who was jailed until death in the case of crimes against humanity.

At the same time, their permanent expulsion has been recommended to the central committee.

Pabna District Chhatra League president Mizanur Rahman Sabuj confirmed the expulsion through a press release on Sunday.

Earlier, 11 activists were expelled on Thursday (August 17). A total of 28 persons were expelled in this regard.

Najibul Islam Niyan, expelled organizing secretary of Faridpur Upazila Chhatra League, said, “I have not made any kind of post about Sayeedi. My opponent edited the picture of a post and sent it to Zilla Chhatra League.”

Pabna District Chhatra League president Mizanur Rahman Sabuj said on the advice of Central Chhatra League, first 11 persons and then 17 persons were expelled.
