Canberra airport has been evacuated after reports of repeated gunfire at the Qantas departure terminal on Sunday afternoon.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has reportedly arrested one person at the scene.
Passengers in recently arrived planes say they have been locked in, others have been forced to wait on the tarmac while the investigation continues.
The ACT Police has confirmed an incident has taken place at the airport.
