3.9 lakh Yaba tablets recovered in Teknaf

Bangladesh Desk: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh recovered 3,90,000 lakh Yaba tablets from Damdamia bordering area of Teknafupazila in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan, commanding officer of BGB battalion2 in Teknaf, said several drug smugglers were entering Bangladesh with a big shipment of Yaba.

On information, BGB members took positions at Omar Khal area around 7:45pm.

Sensing their presence, the suspected people managed to escape the scene.

Later, the Yaba tablets were recovered from the spot, he said, adding that the pills have a street value of Tk 11.7 crore.
