Who is responsible for this death?

Deepanvita Biswas, a bank officer mother of a small child, died after a brick fell on her head from an under-construction building. This Bangladesh Bank official died on the spot when a brick fell on his head from an under-construction building while walking on the footpath of the capital in Bangladesh on Wednesday. A small child had to lose his mother. A talented bank officer had to give his life prematurely.

Who is responsible for this death? What is the building construction law and its correct application in Bangladesh? It is not a natural death. It is a form of murder. The murder occurred due to the negligence of the owner of the building under construction and the construction company engaged in the construction work.

So the owner of the building under construction and the construction company engaged in the construction work should be brought under the law and be given appropriate punishment. Adequate compensation should be given to the victim’s family.

We draw the attention of the concerned authorities to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles in the vicinity during the construction work.
