BNP secretary general Fakhrul denied bail

Bangladesh desk: The Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court on Wednesday rejected the bail petition of the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a case filed over vandalising Chief Justice’s residence on the day of BNP’s grand rally in the capital on October 28.

Judge Foysal Atique Bin Quader of the court passed the order after hearing on a bail petition in the case.

On November 2, Syed Joynul Abedin Mesbah filed the petition seeking bail for Mirza Fakhrul in the case after the Detective Branch of police detained Fakhrul from his Gulshan residence on October 29.

Fakhrul was shown arrested in the case filed with Ramna Police Station against 59 BNP leaders and activists over the attack on the residence of the chief justice in Kakrail on October 28.
