Truck overturns on Padma Bridge, six injured

Bangladesh desk: Six people were injured as onion-laden truck overturned at Mawa-end of the Padma Bridge on Monday, a day after two youths killed in motorcycle accident on the bridge.
Witnesses said an onion-laden truck overturned on the north viaduct of the Padma Bridge at the Mawa-end at about 5.00pm after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving six people injured.
A police constable present at the scene said the injured were sent to a nearby hospital.
“The driver was running the truck recklessly and it overturned at Mawa-end. Of the injured, condition of one people is critical,” he said.
The truck owner Shahed said, “We were going to Shyambazar in Dhaka with 134 sacks of onions from Faridpur. The driver lost the control over the steering at Mawa-end and hit the railing of the bridge and overturned.”
On Sunday night, two youths were killed in a motorcycle accident on the Padma Bridge.
