Rana Dasgupta demands removal of Noakhali DC, SP

Bangladesh desk: Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christan Oikya Parishad general secretary Rana Dasgupta has demanded removal of deputy commissioner and superintendent of police of Noakhali for their ‘failure to contain’ the attacks on Hindu community’s temple and business establishments in Chowmuhoni Bazar of the district.

He raised the demand after visiting the affected temple and business establishments in Choumuhoni Bazar on Sunday.

Rana Dasgupta also demanded punishment of evil forces under the Special Powers Act.

He called for providing compensation to the affected Hindu community people, taking necessary steps to offer treatment to injured and repairing the affected temples.

The Hindu-Bouddha-Christan Oikya Parishad leader said the communal forces have posed a challenge to the prime minister by launching attacks on temples at different places of the country. Their objective is to obstructing the ongoing development works creating an unstable situation in the country. They want to tarnish the country’s image abroad and force the minorities to leave the country through the attacks.

Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christan Oikya Parishad will observe mass hunger strike and sit-in programs from 6:00am to 12:00noon on October 23 across the country, said Rana Dasgupta.

Noakhali district president of Hindu-Bouddha-Christan Oikya Parishad Binoy Kishore Roy, District Puja Udjapan Parishad’s general secretary Kishore Chandra Shil, Convener of Noakhali district unit of Juba Oikya Parishad Biswajit Sutradhar, member secretary Pappu Saha, District Puja Udjapan Parishad’s assisstant cultural secretary Joy Bhuiyan and Goutam Saha, among others, were present.
